Leasing is now underway for Plank Road, a 27-story residential building at 662 Pacific Street in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Marvel Architects and developed by The Brodsky Organization, the structure yields 312 rental units that range from studios to two-bedroom accommodations.
Plank Road is the fifth building to reach completion within Pacific Park, a 22-acre redevelopment zone that will include approximately 6 million square feet of residential area or upward of 6,400 apartments. Other properties within Pacific Park include Barclays Center, 461 Dean Street, 535 Carlton Avenue, and 550 Vanderbilt Avenue among other high-profile developments.
Eventually the master plan is expected to yield 47,000 square feet of retail space, 336,000 square feet of office space, and eight acres of publicly accessible open area.
“We are excited to be a part of Pacific Park’s growth with our latest building, bringing new mixed-income housing and a public school to Prospect Heights,” said The Brodsky Organization principal Alexander Brodsky.
Plank Road’s architects drew inspiration from the many brownstones that characterize the Prospect Heights area. With this in mind, the lower levels of the building are enclosed in dark gray brick, which creates a modest transition away from the traditional neighboring masonry buildings.
Above the fifth floor, the building sets back from the street front elevation, then again above the 18th floor. At these levels, the façade is constructed of sandy-hued brick and a more traditional window system compared to the asymmetrical openings below the fifth floor.
Residents will have access to additional outdoor space at the roof, which includes a pool, grilling stations, lounge areas, and tables for dining. Indoor amenities include a fitness center, onsite bike rentals and storage, a communal lounge, a children’s playroom, a laundry room, and access to a 24/7 concierge.
The first move-ins are expected this fall.
